Who is affected by the 80% reduction in January-February rents

An 80% reduction in the rents they will pay in January and February will be entitled to those businesses that remain closed during the holidays, as the Prime Minister announced yesterday.

The plan of the Ministry of Finance foresees that the “haircut” will be implemented in about 200,000 companies in the sectors of catering and retail, sports and culture.

The reduction of the rent, however, does not apply to the affected companies that operate but are included in the list of affected KADs which for November and December paid a reduced rent of 40%.

In particular, restaurants, cafes, clothing and footwear stores and other retail businesses, theaters, cinemas and gyms that closed in December are the categories that will pay only 20% of the rent in January and February.

The owners of these properties, however, will receive from the state compensation of 60% of the nominal amount of the rent and the losses are expected to be the same as in December when the metro reduced the rent by 40% and the financial compensation by 50% on the damage.
