Coronavirus: 5,353 new cases in Serbia and 49 more deaths HELLAS

The epidemiological situation in Serbia continues to be difficult, as the number of daily cases exceeds 5,000 and the number of patients in need of hospitalization is dramatically increasing.

In the last 24 hours, 5,353 new cases were confirmed and 49 patients died. 9,443 patients are being treated at Covid-19 Referral Hospitals, of which 333 are intubated.

Serbia without lockdown


The Serbian government has decided to impose stricter measures on entry into the country during the holidays. Specifically, from December 20, a negative PCR test will be required for all travelers, not older than 48 hours. Serbian nationals will be able to enter the country without a test, but will be required to quarantine for 10 days at their residence.

At the moment in Serbia there are no restrictions on the movement of citizens while the shops, cafes and restaurants are open until 5:00 pm. The authorities left open the possibility of imposing stricter measures during the holidays and it is not ruled out that there may be a general lockdown as long as the new cases continue to increase.
